Hack 4

Victoria Theon eased back in her chair, examining her rough, unpolished fingernails. Although now she had attendants to see to her every need, she had never allowed them to reshape and polish her nails. It was a reminder of what she had been before.

She swiveled around, dropping her hand with a sigh of impatience. The wide stretch of windows behind her desk looked out over the wasteland and grime that was the city. She gazed at it blankly.

The door banged open and a tall man strode into the room, Victoria's guards hurrying after him, giving him a respected and wide berth. He walked forward and slammed his palms down on her desk, causing one of the guards to jump, his fingers twitching towards his gun before stilling.

"Victoria," the man said, cordially inclining his head.

"Roland," she answered, mimicing the gesture. "Take a seat."

"I'd prefer to stand," he replied, ignoring her subtle command. She smirked; this was his way of regaining some form of control, here in her place of jurisdiction. He was deluding himself if he thought he had any power here.

She waved at the guards and they left the room, closing the door behind them. The two leaders stood there for a moment, staring at each other in a pregnant silence.

"I'll cut straight to the chase," Roland Dereman said abruptly.

"What, and cheat me of the chance to tease you?" Victoria purred, her eyes narrowing. "You always did rise to the bait so easily, Roland."

"Well, I had a lot of opportunity to practice with you, didn't I, Victoria?" he hissed bitterly. "You never spoke a word to me that wasn't a lie in the past. You played the task of baiting me so well."

"Tsk, tsk," she murmured. "Getting fussed about the past, are we? Can't seem to get over it, can you?"

He didn't answer, just stared out the window.

"You're upset about Kakugan," Victoria said. "You've never gotten over the fact that I captured your toy, the one you grew for years in that little facility of yours." She stood and crossed the room to stand a few feet away from him, one hand resting on her desk. "Fiddling with human lives. Isn't that breaking the rules? We can make robots as advanced and as similar to humans as possible, but altering humans? Unforgivable. Why if someone knew what you had done in secret..."

He moved involuntarily, almost as if to slap her before he thought better of it and thrust his hand behind his back. "You do not know how important that child is," he spat.

"Oh, I know, Roland." She smiled. "I know more about Kakugan then you had ever learned in all your years of growing him in that lab. And the things I know would curl your teeth."

"Then you will not return my property to me?" he asked, his eyes cold.

She gave a thin smile. "Kakugan is my weapon now."

Roland's nostrils flared and he pivoted on his heel and strode towards the door. Her voice, low and dangerous made him pause, his hand on the doorknob.

"I know you're involved in something, Roland. The others think you're so harmless, so unassuming, so weak. But I'd watch where you tread if I were you. You're dealing in things far out of your league."

His body was trembling with anger. She could see it took him a great deal of effort to not throw himself across the room to attack her. But even he had to know the foolishness of that. There could only be one outcome in a hand to hand fight with her.

"You can see yourself out, Roland."

She turned back to the windows, the Hell's Gates reflected in her eyes as the door slammed shut behind her.

"And watch out for Mother," she whispered.

(could we simply restart this rp so it won't be added to be deleted? The idea is very, very good. But we need to get our facts straight, such as bestiary and factions. What do you think.. Colin? Please respond in the three-day deadline.)

I honestly love The Word faction. Because I had a brainstorming when I thought about a saying that was convenient. "Spread The Word". Three meaning wordplay.

The map you did should be kept as is. It is perfect, if not efficient.

I want the bestiary to be expanded. Why kind of hellgate effects could vary? Does it depend on the person? The personality? (I like that, as personae reflects a persons 'presence' if you would.) or physical build?

Hallucinations would be a nice touch, if somewhat story-driven.

Thats my brainstorm. It's hard when you dom'y have a brain xD
